Nantucket offers a variety of activities from 80 miles of pristine beaches to explore, camps for kids, art classes, playgrounds, theater, music, charter sailing and cruising and much more.

Museums:
There are more than a dozen museums from which to learn about Nantucket's history and architecture, the ocean, life on the island, and native wildflowers and birds.

Enjoying a Kid's Night out:
Downtown Nantucket has movie theaters that offer first-run films, two theater companies, and plenty of places to stop for ice cream, frozen yogurt, frappes, sodas, coffee, and other after-dinner treats. June through September, Murray camp offers a "Kids Night Out" program for children ages 5 to 13, from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. Parents drop their children off and pick them up downtown. Camp counselors entertain the youngsters with theater performances, ghost walks, crabbing trips, and other activities. Call for reservations.

Several businesses offer windsurfing, kayaking, and sailing lessons for children. Preregistration is suggested; walk-ins are welcome if space is available.

Camps for Kids:
Children's camp programs include full-day camps and specialized camps for soccer, Little League baseball, field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. All accept children of summer visitors (with varying enrollment requirements), and some operate year-round.
